Use the Writer's Import a Script mode: paste your screenplay (Fountain or loosely formatted, or drop a .fountain/.txt file) and it is parsed scene by scene, word-for-word—your headings, action, and dialogue are never rewritten. AI then plans the production around your script: shot-sized beats per scene, characters, environments, and storyboard frames. Frames become shots, shots become video clips rendered by models like Kling 3.0, Kling O3, Veo 3.1 Fast, Gemini Omni 1.1 Flash, H3 Max, and Seedance 2.0, with AI dialogue, music, and lip-sync before export to MP4 (up to 1080p) or EDL. What is FAL BYOK and why do I need it?

BYOK (Bring Your Own Key) means you use your own FAL.ai API key for media generation. You pay FAL.ai directly for what you generate, while Frameliq handles storage, orchestration, and the creative workflow. Frameliq encrypts your API key with AES-256-GCM before storing it. Plans with Media Credits can fund supported models without a key; everything else stays on BYOK. To get started, create a FAL.ai API key and add it in your Frameliq settings.

Our story engine uses advanced AI in a 4-step wizard: (1) Generate Story—select genre and beat count (1-120), then AI creates logline, characters, environments, and cinematically-timed beats with music prompts and director hints. (2) Refine Characters & Environments—manage character profiles with AI voice design prompts, and environment cards with lighting/atmosphere. (3) Build Project Bible—generate visual references for characters and locations. (4) Create Storyboard—transform beats into visual frames with AI-suggested camera angles. Then use Shot Designer to create smooth in-between shots with First-Last Frame mode and AI video analysis.

Modes include text-to-video, image-to-video, first and last frame, multi-reference, and video edit. Typical clip length is 2 to 30 seconds, depending on the model. Kling Add Audio and PixVerse SFX can add sound to generated clips. Image: Nano Banana Pro, Nano Banana 2, Nano Banana 2 Lite, Seedream 4.5, GPT Image 2, and Imagen 4 Ultra for character portraits and storyboard frames at resolutions up to 4K. Why is H3 Max the default video model?

It is fast and still gives filmmakers useful control. Fal reports that a five-second 768p clip can render in under three seconds. H3 Max supports text-to-video, image-to-video, first-and-last-frame control, synchronized audio, clips from 5 to 15 seconds, and 480p or 768p output. Frameliq selects H3 Max by default in Composer and Shot Designer, but you can switch models for any shot. Generation time varies with provider demand and queue length.

How do video downloads and exports work?

Exports are processed in the cloud using FFmpeg. Our Exporter Service mixes all audio layers (dialogue, music, ambient, SFX) with proper volume, fades, and timing, then encodes to MP4 up to 1080p. Lip-synced videos are flagged to prevent duplicate dialogue mixing. You can also export EDL (CMX 3600) for professional NLE workflows. Files are stored in Cloudflare R2 with download links. Individual frames and storyboards can be exported for client review.

Video quality depends on your chosen model—Kling O3, Veo 3.1 Fast, and Seedance 2.0 are the cinematic picks, Kling 3.0 Standard and H3 Max are faster and cheaper to iterate, and Gemini Omni 1.1 Flash plus Kling O3 are strongest for reference-based consistency. Generation times vary by model and length. Some prompts work better than others, and you may need to regenerate. The story engine maintains narrative consistency but works best with clear direction. We recommend testing different models to find what works for your project.

What audio features are available?

Frameliq includes a full audio pipeline through FAL: ElevenLabs v3 dialogue with expressive audio tags such as [laughs] and [sighs], ElevenLabs music with exact duration control from 10 seconds to 5 minutes, ElevenLabs and PixVerse sound effects from text, and 30+ ambient sound presets. Kling Add Audio and PixVerse can score a clip in place. AI lip-sync processing syncs dialogue to character mouths. The audio timeline lets you drag, resize, and layer tracks before export. No separate ElevenLabs API key is required.

What are Story Credits and Media Credits?

Story Credits cover text generation and are calculated from actual token usage. Media Credits cover supported fixed-price image, video, music, sound-effect, and dialogue generation. One credit represents $0.01 of provider cost. Story Credits refill monthly on paid plans. Included Media Credits refill monthly on Creator Plus, Studio, and Studio Pro, including annual subscriptions. Purchased Media Credits do not expire. Models without deterministic pricing remain available through BYOK.

What are the storage and project limits?

Creator BYOK includes 10 projects and 25GB storage. Creator Plus adds 800 monthly Media Credits. Studio includes 30 projects, 100GB, and 1,600 Media Credits. Studio Pro includes 100 projects, 250GB, and 3,200 Media Credits. When included Media Credits run out, generation is blocked unless you explicitly use your own provider key.
